Richard joined Colomendy in January 2010, taking up a position where his 37 years construction-related experience, could be best utilised to enhance the range of services provided to its clients.
Richard started his career in the building industry in 1973 as an "Articled" trainee for a Charter Surveying practice in North Wales and following 2 years of education and training moved on to a more responsible position within the City Architect's Office in Chester.
Having, by this time, decided that Quantity Surveying was to be his chosen profession, Richard continued his education on a part-time basis with a three year RICS/IQS related course at the Liverpool College of Bricks.
In 1977, Richard began working in Liverpool involved primarily on large scale commercial, educational and leisure related projects. In the early 1980's, along with a number of similarly experienced construction professionals, he was co-opted to the Liverpool City Council to assist in major inner city re-development schemes designed to breathe new life back into the city centre.
1989 brought about a move back to Chester, where, through his new employer, Thornton-Firkin, Richard worked on projects throughout the UK for Philips Electronics, British Telecom, Barclays Bank and the Home Office.
At the beginning of 1995, Richard was chosen to head a multi-disciplined team on a project for the construction of a multi-million Pound industrial facility in Luxembourg, for Kronospan, the world's leading manufacturer of wood-based panels.
2001 saw him move to Ireland to take up a senior post with a Chartered Surveying practice and Richard continued his Irish connection when he was engaged to provide Consultancy Services to a Dublin-based property development company involved with projects on the Costa del Sol.
Prior to joining Colomendy, Richard was employed on the Ministry of Defence projects that were carried out in conjunction with the construction of the new Gibraltar Airport Terminal buildings.

There he learnt about the commercial side of trade, managing stock, working one-on-one with members of the public, Government and trade, estimating cost and sell margins of specific materials including non-stock items.
Lewis went on to form part of Colomendy and is now based in Corwen, juggling a full time job and studying a level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Construction & Build Environment at college.
